Nothing is ordinary
nothing is plain
everything is beautiful
in a certain frame

grey skies are perfect
as a backdrop to a tree
little sacs of pollen
carried by a honeybee

you can look at your own hand
and see something new
when it’s holding a flower
or your baby’s first shoe

sometimes it’s the light
the way it shines on her face
softens her edges
with warmth and grace

nothing is ordinary
it’s all reflection
everything you see
